In his opening address at the 2011 AACPDM conference former AACPDM President Dr. Joseph Dutkowsky, shared that it is suspected that 75-90% of people with cerebral palsy also have a visual impairment!
“Many of these impairments are complex and may be difficult to diagnose, but it is critical that these visual issues be identified for people with CP to achieve the fullness of their education and potential for independence.”
-Dr. Dutkowsky (from the 2011 AACPDM opening address “Accepting the Challenge” published in Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology).
